Beer has been brewed in Saverne since the year 1640. No surprise then that the brewery and town of Saverne share the same emblem – the unicorn.

The "Brasserie Licorne" (unicorn brewery) exists since 1845 in Saverne. With more than one million hectoliters produced each year, it is the third largest brewery in France. the fourth, Meteor, is also located close to Saverne.

Beer is a very popular drink in Alsace, it is totally part of the Alsatian way of life.

For 10 years, the beer festival in Saverne has attracted tens of thousands of visitors in a festive atmosphere reminiscent of the Munich Beer Festival.

A few kilometers away, tourists will discover the villa Meteor, a discovery area of ​​the oldest brewery site in France where the Meteor beer is brewed since 1640.

In recent years, micro-brewers have settled on the territory like the Blessing brewery whose craft beers win prizes each year at the prestigious agricultural competition in Paris.
