The Saverne harmony orchestra
Founded in 1968, the Saverne Harmony Orchestra is composed
of passionate musicians, open to all musical forms and sensibilities.
Placed since September 2012 under the direction of Alexandre JUNG, the Saverne Harmony Orchestra currently counts 80 amateur instrumentalists (woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano and harp), which have pleasure to gather around the same passion for the wind orchestra.
Alexandre Jung – orchestral conductor
Trained as a clarinetist, Alexandre Jung continued his artistic training at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg, where he began conducting at the age of 16. Since then, driven by a growing passion, he has continued to improve in this discipline.
His career led him to conduct professional wind bands. In 2007, he became conductor of the National Police Orchestra. At 24, he was the youngest conductor in the history of this prestigious formation.
He has been a finalist at prestigious international orchestral conducting competitions: the 54th International Competition for Young Conductors of Besançon, the London Donatella Flick-LSO Conducting Competition 2016 and the 18th World Music Contest of Kerkrade.
Alexandre Jung has conducted such orchestras as the Massy Opera Orchestra, London's The United Strings of Europe, Berlin Sinfonietta, Freiburger Blasorchester, European Union Youth Wind Orchestra, University Wind Orchestra Hungary, Valencia Youth Orchestra…
After 9 years at the head of the Saverne school of music, he is currently the new director of the music, danse ans drama conservatory of Mulhouse.
